Chapter 1.7
They shook hands, standing close and talking in low voices.
“Massoud, good to see you.”
“And you as well, Roy.”
Massoud detested most Kaldones, but not this one. Roy was a Rogue with class and charm. The man was most certainly an Asherah in a previous life.
“Did Akane talk with you?”
“What do you mean?”
“She is tangled up with Llyr as well and I passed a hint that perhaps you two should talk.”
“Are you mad?” Hissed Massoud holding his friends at arm’s length.
“No. Think Massoud. Akane knew something was afoot. I gave her no more than she already knew. But she is ambitious–probably too much for her own good. She is really a thief at heart I believe, the zealots seem more a vehicle for her than a way of life.”
”Don’t ever think that they are any less cunning than us. Blind belief does not equal lack of subtlety. Please tell me you didn’t tell her where I was.”
“Of course not. But did you meet with Llyr?”
“Ah yes of course that’s it. Well no matter, we can discuss this further over a pint at the Olieant.”
“Good man. Let’s go.”
